1. After signing in, click the “Writing Assignments" button.
  2. Click the "Create New Assignment" button.
  3. Enter in a title, due date, and prompt.
  4. Check the box(es) next to the student(s) to whom you would like to assign it.
  5. Click the "Next" button.
  6. Choose "I want to use a rubric to assign a grade."
  7. Click the “Next" button.
  8. Click the “Create New Rubric” button.
  9. Complete the required fields, choosing a rubric type (My Class, School, District, State).
  10. Click the “Add New Rubric Item” for each item you wish to add.
  11. Click the “Save” button.

You can always add/edit custom rubrics by doing the following:

  1. After signing in, click the “Writing Assignments" button.
  2. Click the "Assignments" tab.
  3. Click the gear icon that appears next to an existing writing assignment.
  4. Click the "Change Rubric" button.
  5. To add a rubric: click the “Create New Rubric” button. 
  6. To edit a rubric: click the pencil icon that appears in the “Edit" column of the rubric.
  7. Once you've made your desired changes, click the “Save” button.
