MobyMax will automatically assign lessons to students based on the skill gaps identified during the initial placement test. Teachers have the option to disable automatically assigned skills if they would like. This can be especially helpful for teachers who want to only assign skills manually to their students without additional skills being automatically assigned by Moby.

To turn off automatically assigned skills for all of your students:

  1. Sign in to your MobyMax teacher account.
  2. Click on the "Tools" tab at the top of the page.
  3. Select the “Settings" button.
  4. Click the "Turn automatically assigned skills on or off for all modules" link under "Assign Skills."
  5. Move the slider to the left next to the "Automatically assign skills" option.


To turn off automatically assigned skills for an individual student:

  1. Sign in to your MobyMax teacher account.
  2. Click on the "Tools" tab at the top of the page.
  3. Select the “Settings" button.
  4. Click the "Individual Student Settings" tab."
  5. Check the box for the student you would like to update, and click "Update Settings."
  6. Click the "General" link at the top of the page.
  7. Click the "Turn automatically assigned skills on or off for all modules" link under "Assign Skills." 
  8. Move the slider to the left next to the "Automatically assign skills" option.
  9. Click "Save."

Note: Skills that have already been automatically assigned will remain in the student’s lesson sequence unless they are removed from the sequence, or you delete the student’s placement test.

  3. Click on the “Individual Student Settings” link at the top of the page.
  4. Place a checkmark in the box to the left of any student's name you want to adjust.
  5. Select the “Update Settings” button. 
  6. Click on the “Modules” tab at the top of the menu.
  7. Select “ELA” from the menu on the left and then select the "Language" link that populates below.
  8. Move the slider to the left next to the "Automatically assign skills" option.
  9. Select the “Save and Close" button.


Note: Skills that have already been automatically assigned will remain in the student’s lesson sequence unless they are removed from the sequence, or you delete the student’s placement test.
