Unlike other adaptive modules in MobyMax, Writing Workshop does not use placement tests to assign skills. Instead, it offers a structured writing experience that walks students through the full writing process for narrative, expository, and persuasive pieces—based on their registered grade level.

How Students Progress

• Students begin with a writing prompt appropriate for their grade level.

• Each lesson focuses on a specific part of the writing process—such as organizing ideas, writing strong openings, or editing for clarity.

• Students build and refine a single writing piece over time, applying new skills as they go.

• The module is designed to support the full writing cycle from brainstorming to publishing.

We recommend allowing students to complete each lesson in full to ensure they benefit from the complete writing process. This supports skill development and helps students see how their writing improves over time.
