In MobyMax you can assign skills to students either individually or as a group. Assigning skills in bulk to a group of students saves teachers time and effort, as it enables teachers to assign skills to multiple students simultaneously.

To assign Writing Workshop skills to a group of students:

  1. Sign in to your MobyMax teacher account.
  2. Select the “Curriculum” tab at the top of the page.
  3. Click on the “Writing Workshop” button.
  4. Select the “Assign” tab from the top of the page.
  5. Click “Assign Skills” located on the left sidebar under the "Practice" header.
  6. Choose the radio button for "MobyMax curriculum" and click "Next."
  7. Use the drop-down menu for "Grade Level" or use the search bar to search for a key term or phrase.
    • You can select the “>” next to a grade level to expand the list of domains and select the arrow next to the domains to see the individual skills.
    • Clicking the blue text on a skill title allows you to preview the questions on the skill.
  8. Place a checkmark in the box next to any skill(s) that you want to assign and click the "Next" button.
  9. Click the "Your Groups" drop-down menu to filter your students by their assigned Group.
  10. Add a checkmark next to any student you want to assign the skill to and click "Next."
  11. Choose the title of your assignment, set an optional start and due date, and where the skill(s) appear on the student's assignment tab.
  12. Click the "Assign" button.


Note: If you want to assign skills to a group but your students have not yet been placed in one, you can always create a new group and add your students.

  2. Select the subject area link on the left sidebar under the "Subjects" header.
  3. Click on the "Writing Workshop" button.
  4. Select the "Lessons" tab at the top of the page.
  5. Click on the “Assign” sub-tab.
  6. Select the name of a group or the "Entire Class" option.
    • You can click on the name of a student instead to assign skills individually to that student.
  7. Click on the grade level link under the "Grade Levels" header to view assignable skills.
  8. Place a checkmark in the box(es) for any skill(s) that you would like to assign.
  9. Click on the "Assign" button.
  10. Fill in the assignment details section and select any optional dates or display preferences. 
  11. Click “Continue."


Note: If you want to assign skills to a group but your students have not yet been placed in one, you can always create a new group and add your students.
