MobyMax offers two ways to earn contest points: raw and weighted points. Raw points are based on the number of correct answers given in skills that are passed, and most subjects offer one contest point for each correct answer. However, some subjects like Fact Fluency and Early Reading Trio have different calculation methods. Points are usually earned only in skills with passing scores, and in subjects like Science and Social Studies, points are awarded only for quiz questions.

Teachers can also adjust weighted points for students to level the playing field, but this is completely optional. By assigning an appropriate weight value, students can earn more points for each correct answer. For example, if the contest point weight is set to 2.00 for a student, that student will receive two points for each correct answer instead of just one. Weighting points ensure that every student is able to compete and enjoy MobyMax Contests.
