Assigned Daily Time is a module designed to help teachers set and track the amount of time students spend on specific subjects each day. This feature is divided into two convenient tabs: Classroom Time and Home Time. These tabs allow teachers to monitor and manage how much time students dedicate to their studies both during school hours and at home. By leveraging Assigned Daily Time, teachers can promote consistent engagement with learning materials, build better study habits in students, and ultimately support improved academic performance.

Teachers will want to start by setting the home and school time within their settings. Once school and home time have been defined, teachers can adjust assigned daily time in different subject modules for their students.

The Classroom Time and Home Time tabs within the Assigned Daily Time module also provide various menus that can be used to easily monitor or adjust time for students. These menus include:

  • Assigned Time: This is the default tab that teachers see after selecting the "Assigned Daily Time" button. Clicking the arrow to the left of a student's name allows the teacher to see all modules and the Assigned Daily Time for each. Clicking on a module name will bring up a box where the teacher can quickly modify the Daily Assigned Time for the selected student.

  • Day View: This tab allows teachers to select a subject module and date at the top of the page. The results that populate will show you the assigned time for each student on the selected date, as well as how many minutes your students had worked on this date.

  • Summary: This tab allows teachers to select a specific date range at the top of the page or use the default range of the current school year. Teachers will see the assigned time minutes for this date range for each student, if the students met the daily assigned time, did not meet the daily assigned time, and the percentage of daily assigned time met.

  • Calendar View: Provides teachers with a graphics calendar view of Daily Assigned Time for the last three weeks. This visual report easily allows teachers to see if students have completed their Daily Assigned Times minutes for each date within the last three-week period.

Note:
It's important to remember to select the "Classroom Time" tab at the top of the page to review Daily Assigned Time minutes for students who are working during school hours, while the "Home Time" tab should be selected to review Daily Assigned Time minutes outside of school hours.

The “Assign Time” feature allows teachers to set the amount of time they would like their students to spend on a particular subject each day. This feature is designed to help students develop consistent study habits and encourage progression in a subject. MobyMax recommends at least 12 minutes per day for consistent learning and growth in a subject.

When you use the assigned time feature, the amount of time you’ve assigned is shown above the subject icon in the student’s account and on the student’s assignments tab so they can easily see how long they should be working on each subject.

To update the Assign Time for an individual subject:

  1. Sign in to your MobyMax teacher account.
  2. Click on the "Settings" link in the left sidebar under the "Teacher Admin" header.
  3. Click on the "Modules" link at the top of the page.
  4. Select the subject area you want to set the Assign Time in (i.e. Math, ELA, Science, etc...)
  5. Click on the subject module that populates below.
  6. Enter the time (in minutes) that you want students to practice in the "Set assigned minutes for daily work" box under the "Assign Time" header.

Note: If you do not want any time to be assigned to a subject, leave this field blank. If you enter 0 minutes in the “Assign Time” field, the subject will still show on the assignments tab without any assigned time.

Assign Time can also be updated for all subjects at once.
