MobyMax’s Writing Assignments module allows teachers to create custom rubrics tailored to their specific grading needs. Whether you want to use your own criteria or adapt existing grading standards, custom rubrics offer flexibility and clarity in evaluating student work.
To Create a New Custom Rubric:
Sign in to your MobyMax teacher account.
Click the "Curriculum" tab at the top of the page.
Select the "Writing Assignments" button.
Click the "Create New Assignment" button at the bottom.
Enter the assignment title, due date, and student-facing description.
Check the box next to each student who will receive the assignment.
Click "Next".
On the pop-up menu, select "I want to use a rubric to assign a grade" and click "Next".
Click "Create New Rubric".
Enter a rubric title and choose who can view it (class, school, district, or state).
Select the grade level and scoring options using the dropdown menus.
Click "Add New Rubric Item" to create each grading category.
Click "Save" to finalize your rubric.
To Edit or Add a Rubric to an Existing Assignment:
Sign in to your MobyMax teacher account.
Click the "Curriculum" tab and then the "Writing Assignments" button.
Select the "Assignments" tab at the top.
Click the gear icon next to the assignment you want to update.
Click "Change Rubric".
To add a new rubric, click "Create New Rubric".
To edit an existing rubric, click the pencil icon under the "Edit" column.
Click "Save" after making your changes.

Select the "Writing Assignments" button.
Click "Create New Assignment" at the bottom.
Enter the assignment title, due date, and description.
Check the box next to students receiving the assignment.
Click "Next".
Choose "I want to use a rubric to assign a grade", then click "Next".
Click "Create New Rubric".
Name the rubric and select visibility (class, school, district, or state).
Choose grade level and scoring format.
Use "Add New Rubric Item" to create grading criteria.
Click "Save".
To Edit or Add a Rubric:
Go to the "ELA" section, then "Writing Assignments".
Open the "Assignments" tab.
Click the gear icon next to the desired assignment.
Select "Change Rubric".
To add a rubric, choose "Create New Rubric".
To edit, click the pencil icon beside the rubric.
Click "Save" after editing.
