- After signing int o your teacher account, click the "ELA" link from the left sidebar.
- Click the “Writing Assignments" button.
- Click the "Create New Assignment" button.
- Enter in a title, due date, and prompt.
- Check the box(es) next to the student(s) to whom you would like to assign it.
- Click the "Next" button.
- Choose "I want to use a rubric to assign a grade."
- Click the “Next" button.
- Click the “Create New Rubric” button.
- Complete the required fields, choosing a rubric type (My Class, School, District, State).
- Click the “Add New Rubric Item” for each item you wish to add.
- Click the “Save” button.
You can always add/edit custom rubrics by doing the following:

- Click the gear icon that appears next to an existing writing assignment.
- Click the "Change Rubric" button.
- To add a rubric: click the “Create New Rubric” button.
- To edit a rubric: click the pencil icon that appears in the “Edit" column of the rubric.
- Once you've made your desired changes, click the “Save” button.
- After signing in to your teacher account, click the “Curriculum” tab at the top of the page.
- Click the "Writing Assignments" button.
- Click the "Create New Assignment" button.
