Teachers can update the starting grade level for students in many of the subject modules in MobyMax. We recommend making your grade level adjustments before the student starts working in a subject, as it will require you to restart the student in the subject module so they can begin at the newly set starting grade level.

The steps below will walk you through the process of updating the starting grade level for your students. We also have specific steps for adjusting the grade level in Paired Reading Stories and on Reading Level Assessments.

To set the starting grade level for a student in a subject module:

  1. Sign in to your MobyMax teacher account.
  2. Select the "Tools" tab at the top of the page.
  3. Click the "Settings" button.
  4. Select the "Individual Student Settings" tab at the top of the page.
  5. Click the box to the left of the student name that you'd like to update settings for.
  6. Select the "Update Settings" button.
  7. Click the “Modules" tab.
  8. Select a subject from the side panel.
  9. Select the desired "Starting Grade Level" from the dropdown.
  10. Click “Save and Close."

To set the starting grade level for a subject with a placement test, you will need to adjust the settings accordingly. By doing this, you can ensure that the student is placed at the appropriate level for their current skills and knowledge without a placement test being assigned.
