MobyMax allows district administrators to update Student IDs and teacher email addresses to ensure seamless integration with Clever or ClassLink. Updating these fields before initiating a sync helps match existing MobyMax accounts with those from your rostering platform, reducing the risk of duplicate accounts.


How Student Accounts Are Matched

Clever: The Student_Number field in Clever must match the Student ID in MobyMax.


ClassLink: The identifier field in ClassLink must match the Student ID in MobyMax.


How Teacher and Administrator Accounts Are Matched

MobyMax matches teachers and administrators using email addresses.
To ensure a successful sync:


How the Matching Process Works

When you initiate a sync:

  • MobyMax searches for a match between the Student ID in MobyMax and the ID provided in Clever or ClassLink.

  • If a match is found, the existing account is linked.

  • If no match is found, a new student account will be created using the synced data.


To Add or Update Student IDs for Manually Rostered Students

  1. Sign in to your MobyMax district administrator account.

  2. Click the Student Roster link on the left navigation menu.

  3. Select the Manage Roster link at the top of the menu.

  4. Click Add Student IDs to Existing Manual-Rostered Students.


To Export the Student List:

  • Click the “Export Manual-Registered Students” button to download a CSV of manually registered students.


To Update and Reupload Student IDs:

  1. Open the exported CSV.

  2. Fill in or update the Unique Student ID column only.
    (Do not modify any other fields.)

  3. Return to the same MobyMax menu.

  4. Click Import CSV File to upload the updated file.


Important Notes:

  • Student IDs must be unique and consistent across your district.

  • MobyMax recommends updating all Student IDs and teacher emails before submitting your sync request.

  • Once a sync request is submitted in Clever or ClassLink, MobyMax will immediately begin processing the shared data.
